ABOUT BMSS

Berojgar Mahila Sewa Samiti (BMSS), established in 1986 and headquartered in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, is a professionally managed, non-profit organization committed to driving inclusive and sustainable development.

Over four decades, BMSS has evolved into a multi-state implementation organization, delivering scalable, community-driven programs across Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, and Assam.

With a deep-rooted presence in tribal and underserved regions, BMSS focuses on creating measurable, long-term impact at the grassroots level.

Programmes

Child Sexual Exploitation and Child Trafficking

The Child Sexual Exploitation and Child Trafficking awareness initiative was organized by ATSEC India in collaboration with BMSS, with support from ECPAT International and Equations Bangalore. The program focused on prevention, awareness, and capacity building through community outreach, training programs, and stakeholder engagement to protect vulnerable children and strengthen safeguarding mechanisms.

AIDS Awareness Campaigns

AIDS Awareness Campaigns were organized by CARE in collaboration with BMSS, supported by the Red Cross Society. These initiatives aimed to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS prevention, promote safe health practices, and reduce stigma through structured outreach programs, community engagement, and educational sessions targeting vulnerable populations.

Health Camps During Covid

During the COVID-19 pandemic, BMSS conducted a series of health camps across multiple locations, delivering structured healthcare services including registration, pre-screening, medical consultations, and medicine distribution. These initiatives ensured timely access to healthcare for vulnerable and underserved communities at a critical time.

Empowering Women. Transforming Communities

Berojgar Mahila Sewa Samiti (BMSS) works to empower women and vulnerable communities across India through inclusive development, sustainable livelihoods, and community-driven interventions. With over 40 years of grassroots experience, BMSS focuses on creating equitable opportunities for marginalized populations, including women from tribal, rural, and socially excluded backgrounds, as well as individuals in vulnerable situations such as sex workers.

BMSS promotes economic empowerment by enabling access to skill development, livelihood opportunities, and social support systems that enhance independence and dignity.

Its programs are designed to strengthen community resilience, improve access to essential services such as healthcare and education, and support the rehabilitation and reintegration of vulnerable individuals into mainstream society.

Recognizing the structural challenges faced by marginalized communities, BMSS actively works to address social inequalities, gender-based vulnerabilities, and barriers to opportunity. Through awareness campaigns, community engagement, and partnerships with national and international organizations, BMSS fosters environments that promote inclusion, safety, and long-term social transformation.

By combining grassroots presence with scalable program models, BMSS aims to build stronger communities, enhance quality of life, and contribute to sustainable and inclusive development across multiple states in India.
