Welcome to BMSS

Brief Detail About BMSS

Berojgar Mahila Sewa Samiti (B.M.S.S.) is a non-profit, non-partisan and non-sectarian organization registered under the Society Registration Act 1973 (M.P.). The head office of B.M.S.S. is located in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, situated off of N.H.-6, which is easily accessible by road and by rail.

B.M.S.S. aspires towards working for the social and economic empowerment of the weak and vulnerable sections of the community, both in rural and urban pockets. Much of the focus of our work has been on livelihood, literacy, nutrition, child education, child trafficking, child labour, female sex workers, family planning, STI/RTI, HIV/AIDS and formation of SHGs.

Justifying the name, B.M.S.S. has the softest corner in its heart for women. We believe that women can be free from the tentacles of atrocities, exploitation, trafficking and sexual harassment and can lead a queen-size life only if they are socially and economically empowered. We promote the enlistment of the fairer sex through strengthening of their economic condition by providing them the means of livelihood.

The poor laborers who have migrated from rural base to urban pockets are deprived of all the basic amenities such as health, education and basic sanitation. Education is a mere dream for their children. As soon as children attain the age of 8 years they turn into child labourers, working to help their parents make enough money just to fill their stomachs. The slum dwellers are more prone to STls/RTls because of lack of education, which is a downward spiral towards the epidemic of HIV/AIDS and other diseases. The issues of livelihood, health and education are all interrelated and occur as a result of one another. B.M.S.S. has a sharp eye towards all of these issues and is working to improve the condition of the Chhattisgarhi people at the most vulnerable sections of society.

Together we will build a world in which all the women are loved, respected and cherished, their rights are promoted and protected, without discrimination of any kind, where their safety and well being are paramount, and where, and where they can develop in health, peace and dignity.

BMSS is committed to see that adequate food, safe drinking water, primary education, basic health facilities and family planning is virtually within the reach of every signal human at the grass-roots level especially for women and children ensuring that the poor the needy and the vulnerable live with full dignity.
